Obelix being Kyoot

Here is another picture of Obelix being soooo kyooooot.

This weekend we've had at least 8 inches of rain outside, making my yard a total mudpuddle.  It' s gotten so wet that cut worms (you can't miss them, they look like maggots but they're an inch long) have come to the surface for air and instead have drowned.  No yard work got done this week, only cleaning out the chicken coop and putting the resulting waste into the compost bin.

Obelix got into some poison ivy and smeared it on my cheek.  Oh yay.  Remind me to keep a better check on him when he goes outside.

I did go shopping briefly, finding an organic biodegradable kitty litter.  You shouldn't put cat feces in your compost bin for the garden because of the meat products they eat etc. but now I can put it in a separate compost bin and keep it out of the land fill.  My long term goal is to use cardboard and packaging in the compost bin or in a worm farm, keeping my land-fill trash down to a minimum.  That also means recycling more and paying attention to the numbers on the bottom of plastics.

UPDATE:  I am totally going to kill that puppy before his life is over with.  He crawled under the deck and fell asleep.  I spent an hour trying to get him out.  I finally found him at the far end asleep and had to dig dirt away to get him while it's thunderstorming and raining hard.  I got coated in mud and soaking wet for like the third time today.  The dog wants to die. die. die.  I love him.  Bastard.
